Team development unlocks value for Virtus
Launched only five months ago, Virtus Property Services Ltd is already demonstrating how its team is driving growth, creating opportunities and capturing value.
The expert property management company, backed by 60 years’ experience in the property industry, has not only made strides in its field but has also been investing in its people.
Property Manager Kevin Dale, who manages the Building Maintenance team, has worked diligently to mentor staff, ensuring they understand, share and uphold Virtus’ values, representing the company with professionalism.
Using his knowledge and experience alongside practical support, Kevin has helped prepare Property Assistant Richard Matthews pass his acting role to achieve a promotion to first line management.
Kevin says, “I work closely with Richard on a day-to-day basis, setting objectives surrounding the management of the team, which seems to have come naturally to him.”
Richard’s progress makes him well placed to support Kevin with future management requirements.
Richard said, “Since passing my acting role as a first line manager, it has given me the confidence and drive to push harder to improve myself and the Virtus team. I am hoping to take on further training to build on my existing skillset.
“Kevin has been and continues to be influential in my career at Virtus and has been supportive throughout. Not only that, but during my acting period I felt well accommodated by the Building Maintenance team too.”
In addition to this, Building Maintenance Operative Ben Banks has passed his probationary period with the company.
Kevin said, “Ben shows a great work ethic and is grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to him.
“At the time of passing his probation he was ahead of where I would have expected him to be with the experience he has.
“Ben has the ability and attitude to achieve greatly given the correct training and if this continues, he will be a great asset to Virtus moving forwards.
“This instils confidence that members within the Virtus team have the right work ethic and values required in order for us to succeed.”
Led by Managing Director Chris Parsons, Virtus is committed to its vision of unlocking the value in people and property.
Ben will continue to work towards his professional development with the support of Kevin and the team, completing IPAF (mobile vertical lifts), PASMA (scaffold towers), plumbing, and carpentry courses, adding to the varied skillset already within the Virtus team.
The continued provision of training and upskilling opportunities accelerates each colleague’s individual goals while adding value to the company and its clients.
